About Me
Carmen Montilla Castillo was born in Ibi (Alicante).
At an early age she moved to live with her family to Ronda (Malaga).
She began her university studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada and later she moved to Seville to continue her university studies, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Seville, specializing in Painting.
She moved to Madrid, where she obtained the DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in Art History II (Modern) from the Complutense University of Madrid within the doctoral program of Theory and Practice: Modern and Ancient Age of the Faculty of Art History of the aforementioned university.
She has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in different cities of Spain.
In 2021, she settled in Menorca and lived in the Balearic island.
Her work has evolved by different pictorial currents over time, both in technique and in theme; her color palette has drastically changed,
capturing the intensity of the light and the color that she processes from reality to her canvases, through her personal vision and sensitivity.
